Sixteen representatives from the various TVET bodies in Sorsogon, TESDA-Administered Schools and TESDA Provincial Office attended the Bicol Skills Summit held on August 29, 2005 at the Regent Hotel, Naga City.

Magdalena), Mrs. Ramona Bermillo (OIC-VSA, SNAS), Ms. Elena Molenilla (Admin. Officer, SNAS), Mr. Conrado Lopez (Instructor, SNAS), Engr. Roan Espinas (VSA II, BNVTS), Ms. Melinda Fulo (Admin. Officer, BNVTS), and Janet Diño (Instructor, BNVTS).
The Summit was sponsored by the Bicol Skills Foundation Inc. (BSFI), the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. It aimed to provide an avenue for exchange of information and ideas between TVET providers and the industry.

Gubat MTESDC Finalizes Skills Priorities, Trng Matrix and MOA with TESDA
The Municipal TESD Committee of Gubat has finalized its Municipal Skills Priorities, Training Arrangement Matrix, and the expanded MOA with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
The Municipal Skills Priorities indicates the middle-level manpower skills that the municipality will develop through its various TVET activities in response to their economic goals. The Training Arrangement Matrix indicates the details of TVET that the LGU will implement from 2005 (3rd-4th Quarters) to 2007 based on the Municipal Skills Priorities. The expanded MOA with TESDA, on the other hand, translates the details of the training arrangements into a binding document that both parties will use as basic instrument in allocating resources along common goals.
The LGU and private sector members of the Committee, together with Hon. Mayor Deogracias Ramos, Jr. and Gubat CTEC Ms. Rowena Fajardo, TESDA schools (BNVTS and SNAS) heads and personnel from TESDA Provincial Office attended the meeting (August 17, 2005).

Gubat MTESDC To Finalize Municipal Skills Priorities, Trng Arrangements Matrix Aug 18
The Municipal TESD Committee of Gubat, under the leadership of Hon. Deogracias Ramos, will finalize their Municipal Skills Priorities, Training Arrangement Matrix, and Expanded Memorandum of Agreement with TESDA tomorrow August 18, 2005 at the Meeting Hall of LGU-Gubat.
TESDA Provincial Office personnel Miss Beth Bornas and Mr. Manny Azusano will represent PD Mynda Santos during the meeting.
Engr. Roan Espinas, VSA II of BNVTS together Ms. Romana Bermillo, OIC-VSA of SNAS, were also invited to participate during the meeting. BNVTS is the primary TESDA-administered school partner of the MTESDC of Gubat. BNVTS will assist in the formulation of training designs and will provide trainers in some of the training projects identified in the Training Matrix. By virtue of a resolution passed by the PTESDC recently, both BNVTS and SNAS can now act as partners with any LGU within the Province and not be limited in their immediate congressional districts.
The Municipal Skills Priorities will serve as basis for the Municipal TESD Plan of Gubat and will cover 2005-2007.

3rd Quarter SAPTVI Meeting This August 23
The member schools of Sorsogon Association of Private Technical Vocational Institutions (SAPTVI), represented by their school heads or administrators will hold their 3rd Quarter Regular Meeting this August 23, 2005 at 9:00 in the morning at Mango Grill, Sorsogon City.
Among the topics to be discussed are the evolving role of SAPTVI as a TVET body, the association's action plan for 2nd semester of 2005, PTESDC resolutions that concern private TVIs, adoption of IRR of RA 8504 (Philippines AIDS Prevention and Control Act of 1998), new training regulations, schedule and schools covered by Compliance Audit, updates on PTQCS/TOQCS, skills competition and the upcoming Bicol Skills Summit (August 29, 2005).
All member schools are expected to attend.

ASCTECs Holds Regular Meeting in Donsol
The members of the Association of Sorsogon CTECs (ASCTECs) held their regular meeting last August 11, 2005 in Donsol, Sorsogon. Among the topics discussed were the implementation of Skills Training on the Air (STOA) in the different LGUs, standard fee for CBTED/CBTP trainers, and scheduling of MTPESDP formulation workshops for LGUs with no Municipal Skills Priorities yet.

To steer its directions along the thrusts of the Provincial TESD Plan 2005-2009, 20 SNAS instructors and administrative and non-teaching personnel had a workshop on Institutional Development Plan formulation on August 4-5, 2005 at the school computer lab.
The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Elizabeth Bornas, Ms. Pura Ella Jamoralin and Mr. Manny Azusano, all TESDA Provincial Office personnel.

BNVTS Holds IDP Formulation Workshop
After getting the go-signal of the PTESDC for its identified milestones and long-term goals, BNVTS held its Institutional Development Plan (2005-2009) Formulation workshop this July 28-29, 2005 at BNVTS library.
All personnel of the school attended the workshop and provided inputs in formulating, critiquing and refining each part of its IDP for the 2nd Planning Cycle.
Miss Beth Bornas and Mr. Manny Azusano of the Provincial Office facilitated the workshop.
PD Mynda Santos and the rest of TESDA-Sorsogon family would like to thank Engr. Roan Espinas for the accomodation of the facilitators.
