LGU-Prieto Diaz Identifies Economic Drivers

A part of the formulation of its Municipal Skills Priorities, the local government of Prieto Diaz identified its economic drivers during a workshop facilitated by TESDA Provincial Office and the Office of the Mayor on August 31, 2006 at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall.

Among the economic drivers identified were agriculture (coconut, rice, sugarcane (candied/tinabla), rimas (breadfruit), pili, livestock; fishery (fishpond operation , open sea fishing; handicraft (shellcraft); land transport; marine transport; trading (copra, palay, basic commodities, marine products); communication (mobile) and construction.

The economic drivers identified will be analyzed during another workshop that will be held on September 12, 2006. The desired direction and the corresponding strategies for attaining those directions will also be determined during the activity.

Mayor Benito Doma explained to the participants the reason for the workshop and introduced participants from Prieto Diaz to TESDA personnel.

Participants from Prieto Diaz included Ms. Betty G. Arires (MSWDO), Mr. Santos B. Villarica (MAO), Mr. Arevalo D. Donanas (MPDC), Mr. Roderick D. Domasig (Municipal Administrator), Mr. Joselito D. Domdom (Chairman, Seaman Corporation), Sangguniang Bayan Members Jose Domalaon and Indafecio D. Eva Jr. ; and Mr. Edwin T. Detecio (Public Information Officer).

Facilitator personnel from TESDA included Miss Elizabeth L. Bornas (Supervising TESD Specialist), Engr. Roan P. Espinas (Bulusan National Vocational Technical School Vocational School Administrator) and Mr. Manny P. Azusano (TESD Specialist II).

Mayor Doma invited personnel from TESDA personnel for the workshop through Engr. Espinas.
